Poor sleep habits are destroying your health

Quality rest important as breathing.

Have you been getting enough sleep?

Did you know that, on average, the typical American works 8 hours per day and spends up to 5 hours socializing or using their favorite social media apps? In addition, the Average American may spend 1-1/2 hours on outside activities. However, according to a Gallup poll, 40% of Americans surveyed reported that they get less than 7 hours of sleep each day. When we consider this from a health perspective, it is quite possible that we could find millions of Americans who are experiencing symptoms that can result from sleep deprivation.

Quality rest is as important as breathing.

Given the widespread issue of so many people who are just not getting enough sleep these days, it’s important to highlight how not getting sufficient rest day by day can seriously affect brain functionality and overall health. Lack of quality sleep can lead to a range of cognitive issues and increase the risk of various health problems.

Have you been having trouble staying focused or remembering important responsibilities? Well, not getting enough rest can negatively impact cognitive abilities such as memory, attention, and decision-making making it hard to function throughout the day.

Chronic sleep deprivation is also associated with mood disorders, including increased irritability, mood swings, and an increased risk of depression and anxiety. Think about that next time you are feeling a change in routine thought patterns or behaviors.

Insufficient amounts of rest can also negatively impact our immune system by reducing the body’s ability to fight off infections and illnesses. It can cause unwanted weight loss or weight gain while also placing individuals at higher risk for heart disease, diabetes, and other life-threatening ailments. All these things contribute to accelerated aging and a degraded quality of healthy skin cells.

With all this information, it is no secret now that rest is just as important as breathing.

Adequate sleep needed for optimal functioning brain

Ensuring quality rest is not only a luxury but a fundamental necessity for optimizing your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Think of sleep as the ultimate power recharge for your body and mind, a critical restoration process that propels you into each day ready to operate at your absolute best.

Our brains are designed to think and do right. By getting quality nights rest we are giving our brains the necessary care it needs to stay alert and to function properly. It also allows us to defend against things that can negatively impact our immune system and our health which would result in contracting sickness or disease. It helps to enhance our mood and gives us a sense of well-being that can last throughout the day.
